Dr George Tsai is a Sydney trained dental specialist who practices in both Newcastle and Sydney. He graduated with a Bachelors of Dental Surgery in 1992 in Otago, New Zealand. He has worked in London, Auckland, Perth and Sydney.
He has a wide range of experience ranging from private practices in both rural and metro regions to the Oral Maxillofacial Department at University of Western Australia. He commenced his specialist training at the prestigious University of Sydney in 2010 gaining a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology. His Doctorate thesis involved research comparing the marginal bone level of Branemark and NobelActive implants and is therefore conversant with the dental implant literature.
He has passed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Membership and subsequent Fellowship (Periodontics & Implants) examinations in the specialist discipline of Periodontics.
Dr George Tsai has been involved in teaching dental students since 2006. He was a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and was nominated for Excellence in Teaching in 2008. He was also an external examiner for UWA.
George has been an Associate Lecturer and is currently a Specialist Periodontal Clinical Educator at the University of Sydney. He was also a Lecturer at University of Newcastle. George was appointed Surgical Mentor for the Graduate Diploma of Implantology, University of Sydney.
Besides teaching, he holds the position of Consultant Periodontist with the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Dr George Tsai has served on various committees and is a past Executive, Secretary and Complaints Officer of the Auckland Dental Association. He was also an Executive of the University Continuing Dental Education Committee of the University of Western Australia.
Dr George Tsai has a special interest in the cosmetic and soft tissue management of gingival recession as well as dental implant surgeries. He has placed various implant types including:

Dr George Tsai has given lectures to dentists, hygienists and dental students at different meetings. Topics he has presented include both conventional periodontics and dental implant treatments.
Dr Harold Pradhan – Specialist Periodontist
Having grown up in Canberra, Harold studied at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2010.
Following working in Sydney and Canberra, Harold pursued an interest in Periodontics at The University of Sydney, graduating with Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics with a thesis focused on an air-powder treatment modality of periodontitis.
Harold is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian New Zealand Academy of Periodontists and the Australian Society of Periodontology.
He has successfully completed examinations of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and the primary and membership examinations within the field of Periodontics of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Harold is a Clinical Educator at The University of Sydney. He has an interest in surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment as well as mucogingival conditions and is excited to be responsible the care of his patients at GT Periodontics, Newcastle.
Outside of Dentistry, you will find him pursuing interests in running, surfing and gardening.

Dr Ying Guo – Specialist Periodontist
Dr Ying Guo grew up in Sydney and completed his general dental training at Adelaide University in 2007 with 1st Class Honours.
Over the next 15 years, Ying dedicated himself diligently to a variety of professional and educational experiences including rural and metropolitan private practice, didactic commitments, plus formal postgraduate training encompassing the disciplines of prosthodontics, oral pathology and periodontics. He was a recipient of The Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship during his studies in Oral Pathology, and served as a Senior Lecturer in the same subject at Adelaide Dental School from 2016 to 2019 before completing his second specialty training in Periodontics at his alma mater.
In recent years, Ying has been focusing exclusively on the clinical practice of Periodontics and Oral Pathology. Besides periodontal diseases and implant dentistry, he maintains an avid clinical interest in the diagnosis and management of a variety of oral tissue anomalies. He constantly aims to apply the fruits of his learning to the care of his patients, and derives genuine pleasure from striving to optimise their clinical experience and treatment outcomes at all times.
Ying is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and holds memberships in the Australian & New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), and The International Team for Implantology (ITI).”
